Microdermabrasion
(otherwise known as a Derma Peel) is a unique treatment from
Europe developed to treat skin conditions such as acne, sun damage, fine lines
and wrinkles, and small scars. Crystal microdermabraion treatments are a great
alternative to traditional chemical peels and dermabraision techniques, because
it requires no recovery time and no anesthesia. It is a safe and painless
procedure that leaves your skin radiant, soft and regenerated. And unlike other
treatments, almost all skin types can be treated.
How it works: Microdermabrasion projects a flow of inert crystals over the skin,
and gently abrades away epidermal tissue in the areas treated.
It is performed in a sterile environment, and done precisely so that normal
surrounding tissue is hardly affected.
What to expect after treatment: Your skin will appear slightly red or pink for a
few hours afterward (sometimes longer for more sensitive
skins), and may feel slightly tighter. Occasionally patients experience some
peeling.
Your skin will be delicate after treatment and should be well moisturized. You
should take care to protect it from the sun by using moisturizing sunblock, and
do not apply makeup for at least 24 hours after treatment. It is recommended
that you do not receive other facial treatments (such as chemical peels or laser
resurfacing) immediately after microdermabraison.
